FIVE9

Five9 has no API for hold audio

Message and music on hold files have to be uploaded by you or by the Five9 tech team. That step is not going away — but everything before it can be, and that is where the time actually goes.

What that means in practice

The production, not the upload

Writing, voicing, mixing and formatting is the slow part. Captivate Connect does all of it, so what reaches you is a finished file in the right format.

Minutes rather than a booking

No studio to book and no producer to brief. Draft a script in the Kiosk, choose a voice and a bed, and the audio is ready.

Right format, first time

Produced to the specification Five9 accepts, so the upload does not bounce back and the level is right for a phone line.

Pay for a prompt once

However often it plays, it is produced once and paid for once. No per-play licensing.

How a change gets made

  1. 1

    Draft the script

Type it in, or start from the assistant's draft and edit.

  2. 2

    Choose voice and bed

    Hear both before committing.

  3. 3

    Approve

    A manager signs it off.

  4. 4

    Upload to Five9

You or the Five9 team upload the finished file.

Also worth knowing

  • Optional content items can replace the music between promotions and refresh on their own
  • Scripts can be reused across queues, so a change once does not mean re-recording everywhere
  • The finished file is yours to keep — there is no per-play licence
