8X8

One platform for calls and contact centre. One place for the audio.

8x8 puts the phone system and the contact centre on the same platform, which is the reason most people choose it. The audio should work the same way — written once, published everywhere, whether the call lands with a receptionist or in a queue.

What that means in practice

Phone system and contact centre together

The same message library serves both.

Any number of sites

One dashboard, however many locations you run.

Change it in about a minute

Write, voice, approve, publish.

No studio, no waiting

The whole production step happens in the Kiosk.

How a change gets made

  1. 1

    Write the announcement

In the Kiosk, in the words your team would actually use.

  2. 2

    Choose the voice

An Australian read if you want one, and the music behind it.

  3. 3

    Approve

Signed off in the Kiosk rather than over email.

  4. 4

    Upload to 8x8

There is no API for hold audio on 8x8 yet, so the finished file goes up by hand. Everything ahead of that step is already done for you.

Also worth knowing

  • Optional content items rotate daily between your promotions, so a regular caller does not hear the same loop twice
  • A message can be scheduled in advance and will take itself down on the date you set
  • Your 8x8 account manager will either walk you through the upload or do it for you — it is a couple of minutes at their end
