Customer Experience

We can recollect few moments, maybe two or three, in our lives where we can honestly admit we shed a tear thanks to a positive experience. So, as we round out this year, I think it’s is the perfect time to reflect on the experiences that positively evoked an emotion.

A major focus point for my business, Captivate Connect, this year was evoking emotion by delivering an improved Customer Experience. It is a truism that consumers want to conduct business with suppliers whose values reflect their own.

Every year during the festive season, I volunteer to dress up as Santa for the charity Dial-a-Santa. This incredible role allows me to bring the joy of Christmas to over 1000 little children across Perth. The moment these children see Santa, their faces light up like a Christmas tree and a pure emotion of happiness is expressed. Now, let me tell you, there is no greater gift in this world than that.

One of the most heartfelt moments I have ever experience in my long life, was volunteering as Santa at the Kids Cancer Support Group. The Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG) is a not for profit organisation dedicated to connecting, supporting and enriching the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

One of KCSG’s committee members, Naomi Holly, spoke passionately about her own experience with her 8-month-old daughter’s treatment for cancer; bringing the audience to tears.

Evoking an emotion is key to establishing a strong relationship foundation, strengthening the connection, and improving the experience.

This Christmas Eve, I will be volunteering as Santa at the Oncology Ward in the Perth Children’s Hospital. If you, like myself, believe there is no greater joy in life than to bring a smile to a child’s face, please feel free to donate at www.kcsg.org.au.
